Alison Harvey Cullen earned a Masters in Fine Arts in dance from Meadows School of the Arts. She danced professionally in Texas, California, and in New Mexico. Alison became co-coordinator and teacher of the Art in the School program (http://www.artintheschool.org/) at Wood Gormley Elementary School in Santa Fe where she integrated the arts into various classroom curricula. Alison’s love for La Casita began when her own children were students there in the early 2000’s. Years later in 2011, Alison began work at La Casita as the afternoon teacher and then the lead teacher until 2019. Thereafter, Alison worked with The Santa Fe Opera’s Early Childhood Initiative where she worked with classroom teachers and children in creating in-depth studies that weaved together guiding principles inspired by the Reggio Emilia educational project. Currently, Alison is blessed to continue this work as curriculum support at La Casita helping to enrich students’ creative expression and love of learning.
